In the level B1, students will learn to understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc. Students will be able to deal with most situations likely to arise while traveling in an area where the language is spoken. Students will learn to produce simple connected text on topics that are familiar or of personal interest, and will be able to describe experiences, events, dreams, hopes, and ambitions. They will learn to briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.

• Prerequisite: B1.1 course or B1.1 result at placement test. Students enrolled in FALL 20 - B1.1 will be given priority to this course. New students and students returning after more than three quarters are required to take a short online placement test https://www.afseattle.org/placement-tests/
