Note: Please keep in mind that all courses are currently conducted online and are limited to six students. If the course is full, please let us know your interest, and we will try to open an additional class.

B1.3 is the third and last course of the general French B1 (Intermediate) series, which comprises courses B1.1, B1.2, and B1.3. During these three B1 classes, students will expand their capacity to describe their experiences as well as to begin defending their opinions and ideas. Their vocabulary to discuss areas of personal interest, education, and current events becomes more nuanced, though still remains within the bounds of colloquial language registers. Students learn to describe events in a logical, linear manner (e.g. introduction, development and conclusion), including reporting direct and indirect quotes, thus allowing them to better present accounts of current and past events and personal anecdotes.

• Prerequisite: B1.2 course or B1.3 result at placement test. New students and students returning after more than three quarters are required to take a short online placement test https://www.afseattle.org/placement-tests/
