In the level B1, students will learn to understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc. Students will be able to deal with most situations likely to arise while traveling in an area where the language is spoken. Students will learn to produce simple connected text on topics that are familiar or of personal interest, and will be able to describe experiences, events, dreams, hopes, and ambitions. They will learn to briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.

Conducted in an interactive and fun manner, this series of workshops will focus on helping you master the common difficulties of French grammar.
• Description: Does the word "subjonctif" tend to give you a shiver of fear? In this workshop, you will study the most practical and common use of the subjunctive through practical and illustrated examples and exercises, so you will feel more confident to apply it in your French writing and conversation. If you also frequently wonder what is the difference between the gérondif (en mangeant) and the participe présent (mangeant), this workshop is made for you!
In addition to these main topics, this workshop will also offer fun and short lessons on the most common grammar mistakes at the B1 and B2 level.
• Prerequisite: B1.3 course, B1 Review, or B2.1 result at placement test. New students are invited to take a short online placement test https://www.afseattle.org/placement-tests/
