They will learn how to introduce themselves and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where they live, people they know, and things they have. They will learn to interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.

Note: Please keep in mind that all courses are currently conducted online and are limited to six students. If the course is full, please let us know your interest, and we will try to open an additional class.

This is a hybrid, 8-week course that comprises 20 hours of synchronous learning (live classes on Zoom) and 10 hours of asynchronous learning (self-study on the e-learning platform).

A1.2 is the second course of the level A1 (Beginner), which comprises courses A1.1, A1.2, and A1.3, for a total of 90 hours of instruction.
• Prerequisite: A1.1 course or A1.2 result at placement test. New students and students returning after more than 3 quarters are required to take a short online placement test https://www.afseattle.org/placement-tests/
• Textbook (not included in tuition): “Entre nous 1” that covers the whole A1 level, https://www.afseattle.org/store/
• Content of the A1.2 course: chapters 4 to 6—daily habits, family description, expression of time, personal skills, simple events in the past.
