In the level A2, students will learn to understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment). They will learn to communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters, and to describe in simple terms aspects of their background, immediate environment, and matters in areas of immediate need.

Note: This is a self-study course recommended for reviewing the notions acquired during the A2 level. The activities consist in modules to be completed individually on the e-learning platform Apolearn. They include grammar, vocabulary, phonetics, oral comprehension, and written comprehension exercises. Learners are recommended to follow a path of 2-3 hours weekly over 10 weeks. The modules are self-corrective, and they open one after another.

• The course will open on Monday, June 21, at 8AM and you will have 10 weeks to complete the content, until Saturday, August 28. There will be an extra week if you need to review, so the platform will close on September 3.
• A tutor will be available during weekly office hours on Mondays, 4.15-5.15PM, Jun 28 to Aug 30. You can book slots of 15’ if you have questions. Please be advised that there is no teaching during the office hours, just Q&A.
• Prerequisite: A1.3 course or A2.1 result at placement test. New students and students returning after more than three quarters are recommended to take a short online placement test https://www.afseattle.org/placement-tests/
