Students will learn to understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type. They will learn how to introduce themselves and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where they live, people they know, and things they have. They will learn to interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.

Note: A1.2 is the second course of the level A1 (Beginner), which comprises classes A1.1, A1.2, and A1.3. During the three A1 general French courses, the students will learn to interact in a simple way, to ask and answer simple questions about themselves, and to initiate and respond to simple statements in areas of immediate need or on very familiar topics.

• Course Type: Online. Please keep in mind that online courses are limited to six students. If the course is full, please let us know your interest, and we will try to open an additional class.
• Course Pace: Regular. 10 weeks, twice per week, 1.5H per session on Zoom. Total 30 hours (class time).
• Prerequisite: A1.1 course or A1.2 result at placement test. New students and students returning after more than 3 quarters are required to take a short online placement test https://www.afseattle.org/placement-tests/
• Content of the A1.2 course: chapters 4 to 6—daily habits, family description, expression of time, personal skills, simple events in the past.
• Next course: A1.3.

A valid registration fee is required in order to enroll in this course (members are exempt).
