In the upper intermediate level B2, students will learn to understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in their field of specialization. They will develop the capacity to interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party. They will learn to produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.

Note: Using a communicative approach based on current materials and techniques, your instructor will help you improve your vocabulary as well as your oral comprehension and expression skills in French. At the B2 level, learners are expected to communicate with a degree of spontaneity and fluency in a way that is comfortable for everyone. This is a class in which you will express opinions on current affairs, as well as socio-cultural subjects, giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options. For learners who finished B2.3.

• Course Type: Online. Please keep in mind that online courses are limited to six students. If the course is full, please let us know your interest, and we will try to open an additional class.
• Prerequisite: B2.3 course, B2 Review, or B2.3 result at placement test. New students and students returning after more than three quarters are required to take a short online placement test https://www.afseattle.org/placement-tests/
