Along with the textbook and workbook and various action-oriented and creative activities, students will be able to have a basic conversation in French through topics related to their everyday life and environment. While broadening their vocabulary and strengthening the use of present and future tense, students will approach the past tense and learn how to talk about personal experiences and to give their opinion. All activities are conducted mainly in French with an immersive approach.

Note: This class is the continuation of the Fall 2021 class Teens A2+/B1, whose students have enrollment priority.

• Description: The course Teens A2+/B1 is designed for 13-17y-old students who are comfortable interacting in French in a simple way. For three quarters (Fall, Winter, and Spring), along with the textbook "À la une 3" and various other multimedia resources, students will expand their capacity to describe their experiences and to defend their opinions and ideas. They will expand their vocabulary to discuss areas of personal interest, education, and current events. All activities are conducted in French with an immersive approach.

• Course Type: Online. Please keep in mind that online youth courses are limited to seven students. If the course is full, please let us know your interest, and we will try to open an additional class.

• Course Pace: Regular, 10 weeks, once per week, 1.5 hours per session on Zoom, for a class-time total of 15 hours per quarter. No class on Jan 17.

A valid registration fee is required in order to enroll in this course (members are exempt).
Objectives of level A2:
- understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment).
- communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters.
- describe in simple terms aspects of their background, immediate environment, and matters in areas of immediate need.
