General French Classes are textbook-based courses offering a complete study of the language (oral and written expression and comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, etc). Learning pace: 1.5h x 2 weekly plus homework; the Saturday classes are 2.5h weekly. General French courses take place over 10 weeks. There are a few hybrid classes offering 20 hours of synchronous classes ("live" on Zoom) and 10 hours of asynchronous learning (self-study on the e-learning platform). Each level comprises three classes (e.g. A1.1, A1.2, A1.3, etc.).

Note: A2.2 is the second course of the General French A2 (Elementary) series, which comprises courses A2.1, A2.2, and A2.3. During these three A2 classes, students will expand their capacity to describe themselves and those close to them, as well as beginning to talk about events in the past with more precision. Students will be able to effectively describe their basic needs using clear and colloquial language and navigate a variety of situations related to daily life and travel.

• Content of the A2.2 Course: Chapters 4 to 6—describe past events and various stages of the life; expand vocabulary of the body and describe exercise habits and health; expand discussion of the future and begin to hypothesize about it; make requests and express feelings about certain situations; etc.

• Course Type: Online. Please keep in mind that online courses are limited to six students. If the course is full, please let us know your interest, and we will try to open an additional class.

• Course Pace: Regular, 10 weeks, twice per week, 1.5H per session on Zoom. Total: 30 hours (class time). No class on 7/4.

• Textbook (not included in tuition): Entre nous 2, which covers the whole A2 level. AFSeattle has closed its store, but please check the store page for additional options https://www.afseattle.org/store/

• Prerequisite: General French A2.1 course or A2.2 result at placement test. New students and students returning after more than three quarters must to take a short online placement test https://www.afseattle.org/placement-tests/
