GivingTuesday: Annual Fundraising Campaign 2020

The Alliance Française de Seattle is joining the global generosity movement from November 10 to December 10, 2020.

GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world. The Alliance Française de Seattle is joining the movement with a 2020 campaign placed under the values of community, resilience, and integrity. In 2020, the world faced unprecedented adversity. Community has helped people cope with an incredibly difficult year, and together we proved our resilience throughout these challenges. The Alliance Française de Seattle is grateful for its wonderful members, students, supporters, and staff, and pledges to continue its ongoing mission to serve all of you with openness, expertise, and integrity.

Giving Tuesday takes place on Tuesday, December 1, 2020.
Discover how we allocated the funds raised last year in our 2019 Fundraising Gala report.

Our Fundraising Goals

Our 2020 fundraising campaign ended on December 10, and we surpassed our target of $15,000.

Thank you for taking part in the global generosity movement #GivingTuesday with us and for showing your support for our 2021 programs.

We would like to acknowledge and deeply thank our generous donors who participated in this campaign or supported our programs during 2020. Thanks to all of you, the Alliance Française de Seattle raised $23,227, which will go towards our 2021 scholarships, community and cultural programs, and operational costs.

Together, we did it!

Our scholarship program focuses on continuing education for WA residents.
With this amount, we could offer 8 scholarships in 2021 (that is two full scholarships per term).

As 2021 will start with more online programs, these funds will allow us to continue our free community programs (Ciné-salon, Morning Coffee in French, Happy Hour in French, Musical Saturdays...) by covering salaries and technology costs.

The Alliance Française de Seattle will continue to cover the expenses of remote work for its employees (fast speed internet, technology tools, teaching resources) in addition to its regular operational costs (rent, office expenses...).
