Hiring Camp Counselors for Summer 2026

The Alliance Française de Seattle is hiring French-speaking counselors for our French Summer day camps (ages 6–12). These camps focus on language exposure through games, creativity, and community. We are looking for energetic, reliable team members who enjoy working with children.  
 
Key Responsibilities: 

  • Supervise a group of 4 to 10 campers, while ensuring their safety and well-being
  • Teach and lead activities for beginner and intermediate French learners (including short lessons, games, arts and crafts, and other camp activities) using materials prepared by our educational team. Counselors will be expected to adapt activities as needed to enhance the campers’ experience.  
  • Act as a role model for campers, promoting good behavior and positive attitudes.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of campers at all times.
  • Maintain high energy levels, enthusiasm, and engagement every day at camp. Learn, participate, and lead by example in all activities.
  • Supervise and mentor campers, providing guidance and support as needed. Listen to campers and encourage them to share their thoughts, feelings, and ideas when appropriate.
  • Communicate with parents and guardians as needed.
  • Oversee up to two volunteers who will support their camp.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Organize materials, set up the classrooms, and clean up after each day.
  • Perform first aid or take care of injuries as needed. Record in writing all incidents, accidents, and actions necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned. 


Qualifications: 
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Fluency in French is required
  • Experience working with children in a camp or similar setting is preferred
  • Strong leadership and communication skills; responsive and proactive communicator
  • Enthusiasm, sense of humor, good judgment, patience, and self-control
  • Reliable, punctual, and helpful
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • First Aid and CPR certification is a plus
  • Selected candidates will be required to complete a background check 


Availability requirements: 
  • Summer Camps take place between June 29 and August 14, 2026. Candidates are required to be available during the full duration of the program.
  • This is a seasonal position. 
  • Hired candidates will need to attend staff training in May/June.
  • Located in Wallingford, Seattle.
  • Hours: On a weekly basis, Monday to Friday. Full days (8:45am to 4:15pm)
  • Hourly pay: from $25 per hour, depending on experience and credentials.

L'Alliance Française de Seattle recherche des professeurs de français langue étrangère pour ses cours en présentiel, en linge, le soir, ou le samedi.

Qualifications requises :

  • être en possession d’un permis de travail américain (aucune exception possible actuellement)
  • être basé(e) dans la région de Seattle pour pouvoir donner des cours à l'Alliance (Wallingford)
  • être diplômé(e) en FLE (licence ou master FLE, DAEFLE ou équivalent) et/ou avoir une expérience avérée de l’enseignement du FLE
  • avoir une expérience d'enseignement en ligne et être très à l'aise avec les nouvelles technologies (utilisation active de plateformes en ligne et des outils de vidéoconférence)
  • avoir une experience d’enseignement en présentiel et sur zoom
  • être dynamique, enthousiaste, consciencieux(se), avoir un bon sens du relationnel
  • avoir une attitude professionnelle
  • être de langue maternelle française ou avoir le niveau langue maternelle (niveau C1 ou C2)
  • avoir le niveau en langue anglaise B2 minimum
Disponibilités requises: 
  • être disponible deux à quatre soirs par semaine (créneau 17h - 20h15) et/ou
  • être disponible le samedi (créneau 9h - 13h)
  • pour les cours privés en ligne ou en présentiel, les créneaux sont flexibles 

Salaire compétitif allant de $35 à $40 de l'heure selon l'experience.
