YOUTH CLASSES
Please note that the Alliances Françaises offer French as a foreign language course programs (in French ‘FLE’ for ‘Français Langue Etrangère’) and not as a native/second language course programs (in French ‘FLAM’ for ‘Français LAngue Maternelle’). This means that our youth students are non-francophones; they do not speak French at home or have not been following an immersion program. Please contact info@afseattle.org if you need more information.
Each youth class starts in September and takes place over three (3) terms: Fall, Winter, and Spring. For new students joining after the
start of the academic year, please take our placement test, then email
us
to enroll.
An interactive method-based approach, following a textbook. Three classes complete a level (For A1: A1.1, A1.2, A1.3).
A more flexible approach with a special focus (e.g. grammar, reading, writing, oral communication, etc.).
Specialized courses are organized in 5-week sessions, allowing students to register for 1 or several sessions during the term.
1-week intensive courses to review an entire level.
Recommended once a student has reached the end of a level and/or before starting the next one, or as a refresher course.
Designed to cover a specific topic for a single session (pronunciation for beginners, informal French, French for travel, DELF Preparation, etc.).
Each youth class starts in September and takes place over three (3) terms: Fall, Winter, and Spring.
We offer an immersive and creative approach to learning French, with the options to learn in a virtual setting, or on-site at our Wallingford location.
French lessons will be put into practice with fun exercises and interactive games. Our instructors are French teachers with an extensive experience in teaching kids, youth and teens, and who have been constantly innovating our youth programs to adapt to new needs and formats.
