Les Rencontres de l'Alliance

A Film Festival in COVID times: a French Perspective on Maintaining Social Ties and Digitizing Events

with Justine Lévêque & Champs-Elysées Film Festival

About the Speaker: Originally from northern France, Justine Lévêque studied film theories, events and film research. She specializes in image education for young audiences. Upon graduation from her studies, she joined Millimages, a Franco-English animated film production and distribution company, in the International Distribution department. She is also a columnist for the cinema radio show "Exterior Night" on Radio Campus Paris and is responsible for development & youth programming for five years for the Cinémondes festival in Lille. In 2015, she joined the management of Champs-Elysées Film Festival as Artistic & Events Director.

About the Champs-Elysées Film Festival: Founded in 2012 by Sophie Dulac, Champs-Elysées Film Festival is the only French and American independent film festival in France and the most important film festival in Paris. Dedicated to the public and to the discovery of new talents, the festival aims to be a bridge between French and American cinematography as well as a meeting platform for young creation, both cinematographic and musical. At the heart of the festival, the feature and short film preview competitions aim to highlight unpublished works offering a panorama of the latest independent productions from both countries. Champs-Élysées Film Festival fervently defends emerging talents, freedom of tone, areas of cinematographic experimentation and testing.
