About the Speaker: With over 20 years of experience working with Canadian exporters and innovators, Jérôme Pischella has been consul and senior trade commissioner at the Consulate of Canada in Seattle since July 2019, overseeing the Pacific Northwest states. He previously served in a similar capacity in Denver, Colorado (2014-2019), covering Colorado, Utah, Kansas, Wyoming, and Montana. From September 2010 to June 2014, as counsellor for science and technology at the Canadian Embassy in Washington, DC, he specialized in facilitating innovation links between Canada and the United States, whether for the government, the private sector, or academia. He spent the two previous years in Rabat, Morocco, as senior trade commissioner and director of the trade section, with a focus on aerospace, agriculture, and education promotion. Prior to joining Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada, he worked for seven years with Export Development Canada, most notably as a small business specialist. Jérôme holds a BA in international commerce from ESCM (Poitiers, France) and a MA in international business analysis from Leicester University, UK.
