The Alliance Française de Seattle is a major French language examination center in the Pacific Northwest.
We offer tests and exams based on the same levels as the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages
(CECRL): A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, and C2 and the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL):
(Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, Superior).

Test d'évaluation de français Canada: for those wishing to emigrate to Canada. Written comprehension, oral comprehension, written expression, and oral expression modules (approx. 3.5 hours)
Test d'évaluation de français IRN: for those wishing to emigrate to France. The TEF pour l'intégration, la résidence et la nationalité (IRN) is specific to those who wish to obtain French citizenship or a resident card. Written comprehension, oral comprehension, written expression, oral expression modules (approx. 1.5 hours)
Test d'évaluation de français: for those who wish to integrate a school/university in France or in a French-speaking country. There are five (5) modules to choose from: written comprehension, oral comprehension, vocabulary & syntax, written expression, and oral expression (approx. 4 hours for all 5 modules).
Awarded by the French Ministry of Education, the DELF (Diplôme d’études en langue française) is a diploma that certifies non-French candidates’ proficiency in French. Candidates must be at least 18 years old.
Awarded by the French Ministry of Education, the Junior version of the DELF has the same basic structure as the standard DELF, with topics adapted for young people. Candidates must be between 13-17 years old. The diploma awarded is identical to the DELF.
Awarded by the French Ministry of Education, the DELF Prim is intended for children ages 8-12 who are beginners in French as a Foreign Language and who are either undertaking studies corresponding to the French elementary level or are the right age to undertake such studies under the regulations applicable in their country.
At Alliance Française Seattle, we're proud to serve as an official Avant Assessment testing center, offering the Avant STAMP® 4S—a trusted, computer-adaptive test that measures real-world proficiency in Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking for learners aged 13 and up. The French version uses authentic content—articles, audio clips, and everyday materials—to give you an accurate reflection of your ability to use French in real-life situations.
This test is recommended for college credit by the American Council on Education (ACE), the same awarding body behind AP and ACT credits. High scores can lead to college credit or placement into advanced courses.

PrepMyFuture is an e-learning platform which will help you to prepare for your TEF certification test or DELF exam. Each license (PrepMyTEF or PrepMyDELF) will allow you to train efficiently, simulate the exam conditions, track your performance, identify your weaknesses, and improve your skills with personalized exercises. Each license is valid one year.
