Spring26 - Basic French Grammar for English Speakers A1/A2

Workshops

This workshop will help you understand and avoid the common grammar mistakes made by English speakers and help you start to think (and dream!) in French!  
Students will learn or review the basics of French grammar through an accessible comparison with English grammar while reviewing the French grammar terminology and concepts covered at the A1+/A2 levels. All materials will be provided by the instructor.

Prerequisite: Students must have completed A1.1 and A1.2 or at least 60 hours of French study. Recommended for A1.3, A2.1, A2.2, A2.3 levels.

Spring26 - Découverte Jacques Prévert A1+/A2

Workshops
Embark to the magic world of Jacques Prévert in this 2 hour workshop. Prévert was a 20th century poet and screenwriter who collaborated with some of the most famous French directors, like Marcel Carné and Jean Renoir. We will discover his originality and wonder at his imagination by studing his songs, films, poems, and writing style. You will work on pronunciation, intonation and rhythm, among other skills. An active workshop, you will take part in games and writing poetry, and if time allows, do a small collage or drawing. 

Prerequisite: for students who have completed the entire A1 level (A1.1, A1.2 and A1.3), an Intensive A1 Review course or received A2.1 on the Level Assessment. See our level  progression guide here

Spring26 - Easy Reading and Pronunciation A1+ (SPR2)

Specialized French

Expand your French linguistic and cultural knowledge by reading this classic text. Students will read an abbreviated version of the text and will analyze the themes and writing structure. This course enhances language acquisition through reading, listening, conversational fluency and pronunciation skills. The class materials will be provided by the instructor before the start of the class. 

Les confidences d’Arsène Lupin, by Maurice Leblanc

In Les confidences d’Arsène Lupin by Maurice Leblanc, the famous gentleman thief recounts his cleverest schemes and narrow escapes. With charm, disguise, and wit, Lupin outsmarts both rivals and the law, turning crime into an art and confession into a game.

Prerequisite: for students who have completed the entire A1 level (A1.1, A1.2 and A1.3), an Intensive A1 Review course or received A2.1 on the Level Assessment. See our level  progression guide here

Spring26 - Essential Conversation A1+ (SPR2)

Specialized French

This class will review essential vocabulary at the A1+ level and teach you what you need to know to talk about yourself, your family, your interests and opinions, and to get by in everyday situations. You'll learn how to pronounce French words and use key  vocabulary and phrases for authentic cultural experiences. No textbook required for this course.  

Prerequisite: for students who have completed the entire A1 level (A1.1, A1.2 and A1.3), an Intensive A1 Review course or received A2.1 on the Level Assessment. See our level  progression guide here


Pace: 5 weeks, once a week, total of 7.5h

Spring26 - French Pronunciation A1/A2

Workshops

Ideal for beginners: you will learn key elements in pronunciation, such as accentuation, links, oral and nasal vowels, semivowels, and difficult consonants. All materials will be provided by the instructor. 

Prerequesite: Students must have completed A1.1 or at least 30 hours of French study. Recommended for A1 and A2 levels.

Prerequisite: This workshop is for students who have completed the entire A1 level (last general French class A1.3, specialized class A1+), or have received A2.1 result at placement test, or are currently at the A2 level (general A2.1, A2.2, A2.3 classes or specialized A2 classes).
