Pauline Mouhanna Karroum est journaliste bilingue et écrit régulièrement pour les magazines Jeune Afrique, Inside Arabia et pour le journal l’Orient le Jour. Son premier roman Elle habitait à Sandwich est paru en France en 2020, aux éditions du Panthéon, à Paris. Elle enseigne le français langue étrangère à l'Alliance Francaise de Washington DC. Pauline a grandi au Liban. Après ses études en Sciences Politiques et un master en journalisme, elle a collaboré avec les principaux médias francophones à Beyrouth. Elle a ensuite obtenu la bourse Keizu Obuchi de l’UNESCO en 2007 et a rejoint Paris pour y travailler. En 2011, elle est arrivée aux États-Unis et, après l’Illinois, la Géorgie, et le Tennessee, elle vit désormais dans les environs de Washington DC avec son mari et ses deux enfants.

Pauline Mouhanna Karroum is a bilingual journalist and writes regularly for the magazines Jeune Afrique, Inside Arabia and for the newspaper l'Orient le Jour. Her first novel She Lived in Sandwich was published in France in 2020, by Editions du Panthéon, in Paris. She teaches French at the Alliance Francaise of Washington DC. Pauline grew up in Lebanon. After her studies in Political Science and a master's degree in journalism, she collaborated with the main French-speaking media in Beirut. She then obtained the Keizu Obuchi scholarship from UNESCO in 2007 and went to Paris to work there. In 2011, she arrived in the United States and, after Illinois, Georgia, and Tennessee, she now lives near Washington DC with her husband and two children.

Thérèse, Franco-Libanaise vivant à Sandwich, Midwest, a claqué la porte sans se retourner. À trente-sept ans, elle se questionne sur les raisons de son émigration et se demande si elle a fait les bons choix en suivant son mari aux États-Unis, dix ans auparavant. Cet exil, la fondation de sa famille et l’établissement de la réussite de son époux ont longtemps occupé son esprit… Aujourd’hui étreinte par une indicible nostalgie, elle remet tout en question, pour le meilleur ou pour le pire.

Therese, Franco-Lebanese, lives in Sandwich, Illinois. She decides one night to slam the door without returning back. Now that she is 37 years old, she questions her choices: leaving her home country and following her husband to the United States. Her exile, her husband’s career and the establishing of her own family kept her busy for ten years. Today, her nostalgia pushes the woman to question all those choices, for better or for worse.
