CNED Tutoring Program with the Alliance Française Seattle

French Academic Support for Francophone Students

The Alliance Française de Seattle is launching an in-person tutoring program for native French-speaking students using the CNED curriculum (Centre National d’Enseignement à Distance).

We focus exclusively on the French language curriculum provided by CNED (not covering other subjects such as math, science, or social studies).

Our French-speaking teachers guide students in a group setting, ensuring a comprehensive and interactive learning experience aligned with French national standards. This program is designed to provide a rigorous French language education, similar to what students would experience in an accredited French school. This requires a strong commitment from both students and parents. We recommend parents assess their ability to provide support with homework, and sometimes additional explanations even if they have been provided in class. 

This program is for your child if:

  • They speak French with one or two parent(s) at home, and/or
  • They previously attended school in a Francophone country, and/or
  • They attended a French immersion program in the US or abroad, and/or
  • They demonstrate reading and writing skills appropriate for native-level instruction.

This program is NOT for children learning French as a Foreign Language (beginners to intermediate).

Program Details

  • 32 weeks from September to June
  • CP-CM2 and 6e-3e | 3h/week : 2 sessions of 1h30 | 96 hours per grade level
  • Certificate of attendance delivered by CNED at the end of the school year
  • In-person at our Wallingford location
  • Mondays & Wednesdays or Tuesdays & Thursdays after the regular school day (exact time TBD). Each session is 90 minutes. 
  • We will open groups by grade based on interest. A minimum of 4 students is required.
  • An oral and reading assessment will be necessary to join the program.

Tuition 2026-2027

  • Early-Bird : $2,100 (until July 31)
  • AF Member Price : $2,200
  • Non-Member Price : $2,340
  • 5% sibling discount
  • In addition, cost of CNED class materials in print and online :
  • CP-CM2 : 279 EUROS| to be converted to USD
  • 6e-3e : 329 EUROS | to be converted to USD
