In the level B1, students will learn to understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc. Students will be able to deal with most situations likely to arise while traveling in an area where the language is spoken. Students will learn to produce simple connected text on topics that are familiar or of personal interest, and will be able to describe experiences, events, dreams, hopes, and ambitions. They will learn to briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.

A class for B1+ students wishing to perfect their vocabulary and pronunciation, as well as their linguistic and cultural understanding in areas such as politics and economics, literature and history, the arts, and many more.
• Prerequisite: B1.2, Oral Communication B1, B1 Review, or B1.3 result at placement test. New students and students returning after more than three quarters are required to take a short online placement test https://www.afseattle.org/placement-tests/
