In the upper intermediate level B2, students will learn to understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in their field of specialization. They will develop the capacity to interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party. They will learn to produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.

Note: This is a self-study course recommended for reviewing the notions acquired during the B2 level. The activities consist in modules to be completed individually on the e-learning platform Apolearn. They include grammar, vocabulary, phonetics, oral comprehension, and written comprehension exercises. Learners are recommended to follow a path of 2-3 hours weekly over 10 weeks. The modules are self-corrective, and they open one after another. Please note that there will be no interaction with a tutor during this course.

• The course will open on Monday, June 21, at 8AM and you will have 10 weeks to complete the content, until Saturday, August 28. There will be an extra week if you need to review, so the platform will close on September 3.
• Prerequisite: B2.3 course or C1.1 result at placement test. New students and students returning after more than three quarters are recommended to take a short online placement test https://www.afseattle.org/placement-tests/
