The first year of the A1 beginner program for 4-6 year old non-readers, Les Petits Crabes.

For four quarters, along with various action-oriented activities—games, stories, songs, crafts—students will learn vocabulary and basic sentences to identify and present people and objects, and to express feelings. All activities are conducted mainly in French with an immersive approach.

No textbook required.

Prerequisite: none for Part 1. If you wish to start at Part 2, 3 or 4, you will need to take our non-reader placement test, followed by an oral assessment with our Admissions Coordinator.

Next course: After completing Part 1, 2, 3 and 4 of Les Petits Crabes 1, you can enroll in Les Petits Crabes 2 in the following academic year.

The second year of the A1 beginner program for 4-6 year old non-readers, Les Petits Crabes.

For four quarters and through various action-oriented activities—games, stories, songs, crafts— students will strengthen their ability to present people, things, and events through the themes of the body, toys, and animals. New themes such as food and clothing will be introduced to reach new communication goals. All activities are conducted mainly in French with an immersive approach.

No required textbook.

Prerequisite: To start this course at Part 1, you will need to have completed the course Les Petits Crabes 1. If you wish to start at Part 2,3 or 4, you will need to take our non-reader placement test, followed by an oral assessment with our Admissions Coordinator.

Next course: After completing Part 1, 2, 3 and 4 of Les Petits Crabes 2, you can enroll in the program Les Lézards for readers 6-8 years old. We recommend an online placement test to find the appropriate Lézards course, but most students will start with Les Lézards 1.

The Little Explorers is a full immersion French program designed for children ages 4–6. Our curriculum combines French language learning with hands-on activities, play, movement, storytelling, and exploration to support children's physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and linguistic development.  

With access to a beautiful 6-acre park, brand-new classrooms, and a large French library, children enjoy a variety of learning experiences both indoors and outdoors. In a safe and nurturing environment, they develop a love for the French language and culture while exploring the world around them.  

Sample schedule:  

9:30am – 10:00am - Drop-off and greetings  

10:00am – 10:30am - Playtime, songs, and movement activities (indoor/outdoor)  

10:30am – 11:30am - French learning through games, crafts, exploration, and discovery (indoor/outdoor)  

11:30am – 12:00pm - Story Time and relaxation time  

12:00pm – Pick-up  

Winter Wonderland: Explore French Language & Culture through Music and Crafts!

Designed for ages 4 to 6, this interactive course immerses children in a festive blend of activities. Through cheerful French holiday songs and catchy rhythms, alongside hands-on winter and holiday-themed crafting projects, kids will naturally absorb French vocabulary, express their creativity, and build confidence.Join us for a multi-sensory adventure that brings French language learning to life, sparking curiosity and fostering a love for languages and cultures during this special time of year!
