The Music of Couture: Stravinsky and Chanel’s Paris

Explore the vibrant music of Coco Chanel's world, Paris in the glimmering 1920s, with a concert brought by Seattle Metropolitan Chamber Orchestra. The Alliance Française de Seattle is thrilled to partner with them to bring our members an exclusive discount.

100 years after Coco Chanel sold her first bottle of No.5, SMCO explores the vibrant music of the iconic and controversial fashion designer’s world. The Soldier's Tale, a dramatic suite of music by her rumored lover Igor Stravinsky, is joined on the program by Germaine Tailleferre's dream-like Image and other ebullient music of Paris' Jazz Age, including The Creation of the World by Darius Milhaud and La revue de cuisine by Bohuslav Martinů. The Otto Bar is open, serving refreshments inside Town Hall's intimate Forum performance space.
