Experiential Classes



Our experiential classes give our students the opportunity to learn French through experience: mindfulness classes, cooking workshops, yoga and Pilates in French, and more! Set against the backdrop of our beautiful 6-acre park, brand-new classrooms, and welcoming community spaces, these programs turn language learning into a lived experience, blending movement, exploration, and authentic connection with fellow Francophiles and French speakers of all levels.

Pilates in French

Join our Mat Pilates course designed to help you build strength, improve posture, and move with greater confidence.

The class is taught entirely in French and is suitable for all levels starting at A1+. Open to all levels of Pilates. Participants must be 18 years or older and bring their own yoga mat.

Nina Legout
INSTRUCTOR

Originally from Nantes, Nina began her teaching career after earning the CAPES teaching certification in France. After a year teaching English in China, she moved to the United States, where she taught French at the University of Washington for four years. She has experience teaching learners of all ages and levels and enjoys creating engaging and supportive classes. Nina has also worked as a translator in the gaming industry and currently teaches circus arts and Pilates.

Brittany and Crêpe-Making

Travel to Brittany, this beautiful region of the West of France, for an evening, through the art of crêpe-making.

All materials will be provided by the instructor. 

Emma Le Du
INSTRUCTOR

Emma Le Dû grew up in Brittany, in the west of France, where half of the restaurants are crêperies. a background in electrical engineering, a Master in Public Administration, and experience running a classroom technology nonprofit operating in rural Latin America, she comes to the Pantry through an unusual path. Her ambition, though, is to make Seattle the second best place in the world for “state of the art” crêpes and galettes — and to share her love of Brittany, its unique Celtic culture, and its culinary traditions with anyone who is willing to learn.

Fall26 - Brittany and Crêpe-Making A1/A2

Full Immersion

Make French Crêpes in this experiential Workshop! 

Travel to Brittany, this beautiful region of the West of France for an evening, through the art of crêpe-making and the opinions of a proud Breton. We’ll talk about the geography, the culture, the traditions of the region. We’ll also learn how to make its most famous dish, “La crêpe”, its toppings, through a demonstration and sampling.  Great for beginners. You will learn 10 new words and expressions, essential for your trip to Brittany. 

This class is taught by Emma Le Du, a French native from Brittany. Crêpes and galettes are a long-rooted geographic and family tradition which represent the authenticity and excellence of the region. Emma is passionate about finding the essence of things,  particularly as it relates to sense of place and group dynamics. That’s what she loves about being a tour guide to Brittany. When not in Brittany, Emma resides in the Pacific Northwest. When not teaching, she runs a non profit (TINFA), empowering teachers through technology and collaboration in under-served areas of Latin America. All materials will be provided by the instructor.

Various Levels

Fall26 - Pilates in French - All levels

Full Immersion

This Mat Pilates course is designed to help you build strength, improve posture, and move with greater confidence. Taught entirely in French, these classes are suitable for all levels and require no previous Pilates experience. There are 13 class sessions in total, sold in packages of 3 or 4 classes. Repetition and purchasing multiple packages is encouraged! 

Each session focuses on developing core strength, stability, flexibility, and body awareness through controlled, low-impact movements that can be adapted to meet individual needs. Whether you are new to Pilates or looking to deepen your practice, each session offers options and progressions that allow you to work at your own level. 

Practicing Pilates in French creates an immersive learning experience where movement and language naturally reinforce one another. As you build strength, balance, and body awareness, you'll also become more comfortable understanding and using French vocabulary related to movement and the body in a relaxed, supportive setting. 

The class is open to all levels of French starting at A1+. Open to all levels of Pilates. Participants must be 18 years or older and bring their own yoga mat.
